Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the preview show symbols/letters instead of Telugu?
This is expected and correct. The output contains Anu font glyph codes — raw bytes that look like Latin characters in a standard font. The Anu7 font file maps these specific byte positions to Telugu glyph shapes. Your browser doesn't have Anu7 installed, so it shows the underlying ASCII/byte values. When you open the downloaded file and set the font to Anu7, the characters render as Telugu.
How does the clipboard copy-paste work?
Our converter maps each Anu byte to the Unicode Private Use Area (PUA, U+F000–U+F0FF). Anu fonts in Photoshop/CorelDRAW map their Telugu glyphs to this exact PUA range. When you click "Convert & Copy", the PUA characters are placed on your clipboard. Pasting into Photoshop with an Anu font selected will correctly display Telugu text. This is the same technique used by AndhraCode.com and other professional converters. If clipboard doesn't work for your setup, use the "Download .txt" option instead.
How do I open the .txt file in Photoshop?
Method 1 (recommended): Open the downloaded .txt file in Windows Notepad — it will show the Anu glyph codes. Select All (Ctrl+A) → Copy (Ctrl+C). Open Photoshop, select the Text tool, create a text box, set the font to Anu7, then Paste (Ctrl+V). The Telugu text will appear correctly.

Method 2: In Photoshop, go to File → Place Embedded → select your .txt file. After placing, select the text and change the font to Anu7.
Difference between Anu 6 and Anu 7?
Anu 7 is the newer, more widely-used version across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana DTP. It has different byte positions for the i-matra (ి) and related fused glyphs. Use Anu 7 unless your specific workflow uses Anu 6 files. If unsure, try Anu 7 first.
Is my text private?
Yes — completely. All conversion runs in your browser. Your text never leaves your device and is never sent to any server. The full conversion engine runs locally in JavaScript.
Where do I get Anufonts?
